A Summer Evening by the River: Greenway Summer Soiree 2023
Despite the downpour of rain at the beginning of the event, the Greenway Summer Soiree unfolded into an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, camaraderie, and boundless joy. The rain and wind did take our little registration tent but couldn't dampen the spirits of our vibrant community as we came together to celebrate Patsy’s Riverview.
The party went on, and what a blast it was! The atmosphere was set aglow by the perfect melodies of the music from Big Band Sounds. As the evening progressed, the clouds gracefully parted, revealing a blue sky. Nature seemed to join us in our celebration, offering a magnificent backdrop to this remarkable event.
The heartwarming presence of Patsy Smith graced the occasion, infusing the gathering with a spirit of generosity and dedication. It was great for her family and friends to come out and support here. Her generosity inspires us all, reminding us of the impact we can make when we unite for a common cause.
The event started with our Greenway Board Vice Chairperson Chris Olds was the emcee for the evening. We heard from Greenway Board Chairperson Sharon Pelosi as she talked about the continuous works going on with the Conservancy. We also had the pleasure of story telling from Greenway Board member John Killean as he talked about his Stone Quarry adventures. The event was topped off with the poignant words of NBT Bank President and CEO, John Watt. His heartfelt message encapsulated the significance of Patsy's contribution and the power of community support in driving positive change.
As guests left the event, they were invited to spread milkweed and wildflower seeds in the butterfly habitat, becoming an integral part of Patsy Smith's enduring legacy, nurturing nature for generations to come.
