4th Annual Halloween Trail Hike One of our most popular events is back! Bring your family and friends for an unforgettable autumn evening on Friday, October 30, 2026. This year's event features a guided night hike through woodland trails decorated for the season. The hike begins and ends at the Dungeon parking lot located at 357 Upper Ravine Road in Norwich. Registration opens from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, and the guided hike will start promptly at 6:30 PM. To keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone, registration is required. Complimentary refreshments will be waiting for you upon your return to the Dungeon! While the event is free to attend, donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated. Trail Safety & Preparation Please note that our trails wind through wooded areas and feature uneven terrain filled with rocks and roots. Because safety is our top priority, proper walking or hiking footwear is mandatory. Sandals, flip-flops, and Crocs are strictly prohibited. We highly encourage participants to bring a flashlight, headlamp, or hiking poles to help navigate the path after dark. If you are bringing small children or toddlers, please use a child-carrier backpack. Strollers are not permitted on the trail. For the safety of the group, all attendees must stay together, remain on the designated trail, and refrain from running. Weather and Tick Prevention We advise all hikers to dress appropriately for the autumn weather by wearing layers. Because we will be deep in the forest, tick encounters are a possibility. We strongly recommend wearing long pants, long sleeves, and socks, and we advise tucking your pant legs into your socks for maximum protection. Consider applying tick repellent before the hike, and please remember to perform a thorough tick check on yourself and your family as soon as you get home.
