The Chenango Greenway Conservancy is pleased to open our Bench Tribute Campaign to the entire Greenway community. This special initiative offers you the opportunity to honor a loved one, pay tribute to a cause, or share an inspiring message — all while becoming part of the natural beauty that defines the Greenway trails.
With just ten tribute benches available, this is a limited and meaningful way to make your mark. Imagine your message becoming part of the landscape, offering hikers, bikers, and visitors a quiet place to pause, reflect, and connect with nature.
A Permanent Tribute for Generations to Come
Through this campaign, community members can sponsor a solid concrete memorial bench, designed to withstand time and the elements. Each bench will feature a personalized engraved 4×8 metal plaque, where you can choose words that reflect your memory or dedication.
Whether you want to commemorate a loved one, honor a group or milestone, or simply inspire those who pass by, your inscription will create moments of connection for trail users for years to come.
Examples of tribute plaques include:
- In memory of our mother and father, Francis and Bart Smith
- In honor of the Sherburne Class of 1965
- Sit and Observe
